Secret (Wo)Mens Business

Marie picked me up early for school, she waited in the driveway why I finished pulling on my shoes and securing my hair into a high bun and let my fringe fall out, it was getting a bit long but it looked ok out. I called out my goodbyes to the family, even though Dad and George had begun work for the day hours ago, and the other two boys were sound asleep still.

“Hey girlie, sorry I took so long I woke up late.” I said while climbing into the front seat, and throwing my bag over the backseat.

“Not a problem, I still feel like a zombie this morning.” She said yawning while reversing out of my driveway.

“How was your night?” She said making her way to our favourite coffee shop, we had a late start at school today, so we planned on making the most of it.

“I think I am ready to have sex with Nick.” I said with more conviction then I felt, I had wanted to talk to Marie about this.

“WHAT? FINALLY!” She replied dramatically.

“I don’t know, I have been thinking about it a lot, it’s been three months and he obviously cares about me and I care about him...” I said detailing the reasons out to Marie made me realise I had already made my decision.

“Are you sure it’s not just a reaction to the fact you have both been more physical lately?” She asked.

“It might be part of it, but I know that even if Nick and I break up in 6 months I won’t regret it, he cares about it and I care about him. He is my friend first.” I said.

“Well it sounds like you’ve made up my mind.” She said with a big smile on her face.

We pulled up to the coffee shop and noticed that Nick’s truck was there.

“Nick must be here, his probably with Will.” I said smiling.

“Oh god, look at you all starry eyed, you will probably jump him in the café.” Marie said laughing.

I just rolled my eyes at her in response. We both walked in side by side, laughing about something that we had seen on Facebook the night before. My eyes immediately searched for Nick in the crowd. It didn’t take me long, he was sitting there with holding hands with none other than Millie, his former girlfriend who had ran her mouth about me throughout the school.

“Marie.” I said nodding in the direction of the table, she spun her head around quickly searching for made the colour drain from my face so quickly. Nick was smiling and dropped her hand gently, he look a little uncomfortable at Millie’s attention. That was about all I could handle, I marched right to the table with a big fake smile plastered on my face I was being closely followed by Marie.

“Nick. Millie.” I said staring both of them in the eyes.  Nick jumped up from the table very quickly, a guilty look splashed across his face. Millie just smiled at me with a smug smile on her face.

“Anna, nothing is…this is nothing.” Nick said his hand scratching the back of his neck.
“What is nothing Nick? Breakfasts with Millie?” I said the smile still there but it was starting to crack slightly.

“How did you manage to hide our bi-weekly breakfasts Nick?” Millie asked, her smile was smug,
like she was finally getting what she wanted.

I couldn’t hide it, my eyes bugged out a little. I turned around on my heel, not wanting to have a fight with anyone in the café, Marie was close on my tail.

“Do you mind if we settle for instant coffee this morning Marie?” I said flying out of the café.

“Sounds good to me.” She said rubbing her hand on my back.

“Anna.” Nick shouted out after me, running through the door putting on his jacket. “Anna, STOP, please.” He called out.

I had my hand on the door-handle and turned around to face him, “Yes Nick?” I said, trying to keep my anger from spilling out unnecessarily.

“I want to talk about this. You need to understand what was happening in there.” He said, while gesturing wildly. It was then I noticed Millie watching us from the top of the stairs.

“And trust me we will definitely be talking about this, but not now, not while we have an audience.” I said starting pointedly in Millie’s direction. I reached down to open the door and he grabbed my arm.

“Anna…” He said exasperated.

“Later.” I said with a serious expression.

Marie and I drove to school in silence, we pulled up to school and parked in a perfect spot.

“What do you think they were doing?” I asked a million crazy thoughts running through my mind.

“I think the only way you will know is if you talk to him.” She said looking straight ahead.

“They were holding hands…” I said remembering the sight before me.

“Talk to him.” She said nodding to the left where his truck was pulling up.

Hitting The Breaks

*Read the post before this from this morning, its just the first post, but I think where I have slotted it in, ties it all together! :)

It’s been about three months since Nick and I started dating. Things have been going really well, Nicks parents are overjoyed that we are dating. My Dad not so much. He loves Nick, but he doesn’t know how long this has been going on for, he is not sure that he believes that it only just started.  My brothers also have mixed feeling about the matter, Ed and James love Nick like a brother but they aren’t sure how the feel about us together, George hasn’t really said anything stayed quiet as per usual. I think no matter who the guy was they would have faced trouble with my eldest brother.

“I don’t want to get up.” I moaned, Nick and I were spooned together on his couch watching TV. His parents were coming back from the city in a few hours and we were dreading it.

“I know, I reckon we could get one more episode in before they get home.” He said pressing play to the next episode of Chicago Fire. TV was the last thing on my mind.

“Hmmm.” I said turning around to face him, I ran my finger tracing some super light freckles on his face that could only be seen when I was this close to his face.

“Hi.” He smiled at me. I leant in and kissed him gently.

“Hi.” I smiled back, this time he was the one who kissed me, with a little more urgency.

“Again.” I demanded. He just smiled and kissed me again, this time the kiss went for a little longer and he ran his hand up back and his fingers tangled in my hair.

I gave his shoulder a little push so he was flat on his back, I climbed on top and we began a very intense make out session. Nicks hands ran the length of my body over and over again. I managed to unbutton his shirt and he got my dress hiked up to way beyond appropriate length. His hands suddenly stopped roaming and his lips stopped moving. I pulled back and looked at him, his eyes were slightly glassy and his cheeks were red.

“Anna…” Nick groaned, “We need to just hit the breaks for a second.”

I climbed off him and laid by his side, still drumming my fingers up and down his chest. He caught
my hand and held it tightly against him.

“Sorry.” He said trying to slow his breathing.

“Don’t be sorry.” I smiled at him, also trying to slow down my breathing down.

“Anna…you are so god damn sexy. You don’t even know...” He said with a husky voice.

I smiled shyly at him, he just shook his head at me and began to say something. Although I have no idea what that might be as the next thing I heard.

“WE ARE HOMEEEEEE.” Lillian bellowed through the house.

“Shit.” Nick muttered while attempting to do up his shirt, I jumped up pulled my dress down just in
time for Mickey to run into me at full speed.

“ANNNNA! Is here!!” She screamed.

“Hello beautiful girl.” I said sweeping her up in my arms and walking into the hallway to give Nick a few moments to collect himself.

“Hi love.” Lillian said kissing my cheek in a fluster with her hands full of shopping bags.

Nicks dad came in soon after carrying the luggage from the weekend, and Nick went and helped him carry it in.

I ended up staying for most of the night, I gave Mickey a bath and Nick and I put her to bed.

“Goodnight.” I said and gave her a kiss on her forehead.

“Goodnight Anna. I am so happy you’re around more.” She said smiling but her eyes were tired.

“Night Mickey.” Nick said giving her a kiss on the cheek.

“Night Nicky boy.” She said while rolling over to face the wall.

Nick and I went back to the lounge room and watched a bit of TV with his parents for a while, we made polite conversation before I decided to go home.

“I better go home. It’s getting late and I haven’t really seen dad much this weekend.” I said while standing up and collecting my things.

“Alrighty love. Well I’ll see you during the week then.” Lillian said giving me a quick kiss on the cheek, while collecting the mugs to do the washing up.

“I’ll walk you out.” Nick said jumping up.

“Night Greg.” I said.

“Night Anna.”

Nick walked me to my car and opened the door for me.

“Thanks for tonight, it was fun.” I smiled at him.

“Goodnight Anna.”

“Goodnight Nick.” I said leaning in for a kiss, it was short and sweet.

Three Months Later

*There will be another post later this morning, just wanted it be clear I was connecting the start of this blog to now. So yes check back about 900am Sydney Australia time :)

Thank you :)

Three months later.

“NICK! Put me down NOW.” I said laughing; I was gripping his shirt so tight.

Suddenly a cave of water swallowed me. He threw me in the pool, bastard.

“Nick!” I screamed as I surfaced above the water.

“What babe?” He said wrapping his arms around me, his head bobbing just above the surface with a
wicked smile on his face.

I couldn’t help but laugh, that’s what Nick did to me; he took my overly sensitive, high-strung
personality and helped me to relax.

“You are such a -” I couldn’t finish; he pulled me close to him and kissed me.

“Such a…what Anna banana?” He laughed.

“Hmm, I can’t remember.” I said as I pulled him close to me again, I was addicted to the taste of his lips; I would never get sick of it.

Nick and I had taken advantage of the nice weather, and went for a swim at the local pool. We lived in a tiny country town, it was surrounded by farms and to say it could get boring was a huge understatement. Nick was my saviour, along with our friend Will, Will’s grandad was a big deal in our town, he was responsible for creating a major milk brand in Australia, there was also Marie she was from a family of all boys and virtually lived with me. We had other friends too, but that was our group, the core four.

“Please say we’re having a sleepover tonight?” Nick asked as he was nuzzling my neck.

“Only if we can come.” Will interrupted, Marie in toe. They weren’t a couple; they were best friends but treated each other more like brother and sister. Nick and I started out as friends, but there was always something more there, well for me anyway.

“Ooo yeah, let’s do that. We should roast marshmallows and have a Geordie Shore marathon.” I chimed in excitedly. Nick gave me a look I couldn’t decipher.

“Alrighty, whose house we going to?” Will asked.

“Can’t do mine. David’s staying over tonight...” Marie replied, David was her mum’s new boyfriend. Marie’s mum met him one night when she went into Melbourne for some retail therapy. David comes up almost every weekend, Marie practically lived with me as a consequence, not that I minded.

“My parents are up in Melbourne this weekend, so you guys can come to mine.” Nick said, he clearly wasn’t happy with me.

“Ok, well Will and I will go get snacks and you guys get the mattresses and stuff.” Marie said, she was such an organiser.

“No worries, I’ll see you guys soon.” Nick said and started to get out of the pool.

“Nick, what’s wrong?” I asked carefully following him out of the pool.

“Nothing, I just thought it would be me and you tonight that’s all.” He said slightly irritated.

“I’m sorry...I didn’t realise.” I said, of course I realised, but I was way too scared of being alone with
him. I was scared of what surely would have happened if we were alone.

“Uh-huh...So it didn’t cross your mind that your boyfriend’s parents are going away...and he might wanna spend the night just you and him.” He said wrapping the towel around his waist, his beautiful muscles and his tan 6 pack on show for everyone to see, his body slightly wet, I couldn’t help but stare.

“I don’t know what to say...” I said looking down.

“It’s fine Anna. Let’s go.” He said not looking at me.

We climbed into his beat up old Ute, the awkwardness filling the car.

“Nick, I’m sorry.”

“Just forget it Anna. I just...it’s like you never wanna be alone with me anymore.” He sighed.

“It’s not like that Nick. It’s just every time where alone, there’s like this weird pressure. I know you feel it too, and I know we’ve been dating three months...” I couldn’t finish my thought, I was too nervous.

He sighed, “I don’t want to make you feel like there’s pressure, just because we’re alone it doesn’t mean we have to have sex... I just wanted to spend time with you Anna banana...” he pulled me towards him, and kissed me on the forehead.

He knew the roads like the back of his hand, so I just shut my eyes and let him drive me home; I had never felt so safe in my entire life.
